An outstanding line up of colts impressed on the Gold Coast today at the first of four breeze up sessions in the lead up to next month’s Magic Millions National Horses in Training Sale.
A colt by first season sire Kheleyf stopped the clock in the day’s quickest breeze – 10.24 seconds.
A member of the Attunga Stud draft, the Kheleyf-Autumn Belle colt is catalogued as lot 33 for the sale which will be held on October 31 and November 1.
Other lots to impress included colts by Strada (Lot 46 – 10.39 secs), More Than Ready (Lot 176 – 10.42), Dehere (Lot 75 – 10.48), Dark Lord (Lot 331 – 10.5) and Shaft (Lot 173 – 10.55).
Some 128 two-year-olds were put through their paces today with 47 of them running under 11 seconds – an average time for the day at a slick 11.21 seconds.
“The track has undergone some rejuvenatonal changes since last year’s breeze ups,” Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said. “The track certainly had more give this time around.”
“In saying that we’re thrilled with the performances of the breeze up lots today. The youngsters were well prepared and performed stylishly.”
“We’re looking forward to the next session of breeze ups with about 90 lots at Seymour from 9am on Wednesday and another session at Warwick Farm on Monday following the official trials.”
