Walking or Dancing made it back to back feature race wins when he resumed from a let up with a powerful win in the Group Three $141,400 Newmarket Handicap (1400m) at Newcastle on Wednesday.

A five-year-old entire by Falvelon, Walking or Dancing was racing for the first time since his impressive two length win in the $500,000 BMW Magic Millions Cup (1400m) at the Gold Coast in January.

Swiftly out of the barriers in the day’s feature, Walking or Dancing led throughout and found plenty in the straight under Glen Boss to win in great style.

Trainer Brett Partelle was delighted with the performance of the stable star and predicted bigger and better things this preparation.

“I was a bit worried when he jumped so well,” Partelle said. “But that’s why you put the Group One riders on.”

“He (Boss) just let him be where he was comfortable and it was a terrific effort first up over 1400 (metres) in a Group Three – at that level – just terrific.”

“He’s an underestimated horse. He’s starting to get his just desserts.”

“I think there’s a big Group One in him and I hope it’s soon,” he summed up.

A son of leading Glenlogan Park based stallion Falvelon, Walking or Dancing has been a great money spinner for Bert Vieria and his family who purchased him for $85,000 from the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

His record currently reads out at eight wins and eight placings from just 31 starts. He’s now earned $612,425.

Walking or Dancing is one of six winners, from six to race, for the grand producing and regally related Old Vic mare Young Vic.

As well as Walking or Dancing she is the dam of stakes winner Irongail and the Group One runner-up Aim for Gold.

A Stravinsky filly from Irongail was purchased by Adrian Nicoll from BBA Ireland for $520,000 at January’s 2010 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Another of Young Vic’s daughters, the unraced mare Youthful Presence, is the dam of the Sandown Guineas winner Kidnapped and fellow stakes winner Deledio.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day Kirinata became another early winner for promising freshman sire Stratum when capturing the two-year-old race of the day.

Trained by the same man who prepared the Magic Millions graduate Stratum to his Golden Slipper winning career in Paul Perry, Kirinata was purchased for just $45,000 from the draft of Attunga Stud at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
