The sale of 22 stallion nominations for the 2010 breeding season in aid of a great cause will be a highlight of the upcoming Magic Millions August Thoroughbred Sale.
A selection of studs and breeders around Australia have kindly donated the nominations to go under the hammer with all proceeds going to the Yeomans family.
Earlier this year Jye Yeomans was diagnosed with leukaemia and as a result his parents, former Magic Millions groundsman Scott and his wife Youlah, have not been able to work due to the time required for Jye to be in Brisbane at the Childrens’ Hospital.
As a result of this financial strain the thoroughbred industry has rallied and will at the August Thoroughbred Sale offer an outstanding line up of stallion nominations.
“We would like to sincerely thank all of the studs and breeders who have generously donated these nominations – all proceeds from the sales will do direct to the Yeomans family,” Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester reported.
“We encourage all breeders around Australia to compete for at least one of the nominations for a great cause.”
“The stallion nominations on offer represent a wide variety of leading stallions standing at stud in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria,” Chester added.
The nominations include proven Group One producing sires Danzero, Monashee Mountain and Octagonal and promising first season sires Hidden Dragon and Jet Spur.
The 22 stallion nominations for the 2010 season have an advertised value of almost $200,000.

Globetrotting sprinter War Artist will chase one of France’s feature sprints after he cruised to victory in the Group Three Prix de Ris-Orangis at Maisons-Laffitte overnight.
An Australian bred Magic Millions Yearling Sale graduate, War Artist is one of the world’s best and toughest sprinters – having won group events in four countries.
Under champion French jockey Olivier Peslier, War Artist lengthened over the concluding stages of the seven furlong feature to win by a half length.
Sent out the 4/5 favourite after running an eye catching fifth in the Golden Jubilee Stakes, War Artist led home a quinella for trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre with stablemate Tiza second.
“War Artist is not yet at a peak and there is still room for improvement,” the trainer told Racing Post.com.
“He now goes for the (Group 1) Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville where the extra half-furlong should not be a problem.”
Connections were impressed with how War Artist quickened over the concluding stages considering he was giving weight to all of his rivals.
Bred by Steve Kirkham, War Artist is by Orpen and from the good producing Brocco mare Royal Solitaire.
His half sister Sashenka was Group One placed prior to selling for $420,000 as a breeding prospect at the 2009 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
War Artist himself was purchased by Andy Williams’ World Wide Bloodstock for $57,500 from the 2005 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Having kicked away his career in South Africa, where he won at Group One level, the gelding has won the equivalent of over $700,000.
