The Group One Emirates Stakes will be the next target for grand galloper Love Conquers All after he thumped his rivals in the today’s Group Three Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

Prepared by the Hawkes family, Love Conquers All was given a perfect ride from the inside barrier by Darren Beadman and after shouldering clear of his rivals in the straight he raced away for the easiest of wins.

Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes was impressed with the win, but expressed after the race he couldn’t believe the luxurious odds which were on offer for the classy son of Mossman.

“Walking to the mounting yard I saw they had him up around $8 and then I looked at his saddlecloth number one.”

“I reckon if he’d have run up in Sydney he would’ve been a lot shorter,” Hawkes said.

Hawkes said champion Hong Kong based jockey Darren Beadman rode Love Conquers All superbly – giving him the run of the race before getting him out when required.

“It’s a lot stronger than it looks,” Hawkes said of the wind. “It would blow your baseball cap 100 metres off your head if you faced it in the straight.”

“He gave him a good smother out of the wind, protected him a bit and saved him for a sprint at the end.”

Love Conquers All looks set to run in the $1 million Emirates Stakes on the final day of the Flemington Cup Carnival next month.

“These is a nice little race at Flemington on Emirates Stakes Day, but we’ll see how he pulls up and make a decision after that.”

Beadman said the race went accordingly to plan and he was pleased with how his ride quickened when asked over the concluding stages.

“The horse gave me a beautiful ride. He pinged out (of the gates), but himself in the right position, switched off well and when push came to shove he pushed into the open nicely and when I asked him for an effort he quickened nice.”

“It was a good, solid win,” Beadman added.

Love Conquers All, one of the most admired lots at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, was purchased by John Hawkes for long time client Nick Moraitis for $400,000.

Since then he has raced on 21 occasions for eight wins and seven minor placings and earnings of over $1.35 million.

The entire is one of two stakes winners produced by the Group One winning Prince Salieri mare She’s a Meanie.

That mare’s latest yearling – a half sister to Love Conquers All by Sebring – will be one of the star lots of a quality packed draft from Glenlogan Park at January’s 2012 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
