Launceston will come alive on Tuesday when the popular 2010 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale is held at the Inveresk Showgrounds.
A catalogue of 160 youngsters has been assembled for the sale – and officials say its the best ever line up for the auction.
The variety has never been better with 48 different sires represented including local stars Partners Choice, Savoire Vivre, Telesto and evergreen star West Quest.
The selling action on Tuesday will kick away at 1pm when Lot 1 – a chestnut filly by Mr Innocent from Park Crest Stud enters the ring.
The sale has been boosted since the catalogue went to print with a number of significant updates in the lead up to the feature auction.
Half relations to recent stakes winners Silver Bullion, Radhi Rani, Twenty Grand and Strike the Tiger are all heading to the sale on Tuesday.
“The catalogue is full of quality and never before have we had so many significant updates in the lead up to the auction,” Magic Millions Managing Director David Chester said.
“Tony Williams inspected all of the horses in the sale and said this year the quality across the board was the best ever,” he added.
Following the sale on Tuesday afternoon the attention will swing to the nearby Mowbray Racecourse for Launceston Cup Day.
One of the highlights on that raceday will be the $100,000 Shaw Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic – where Strike the Tiger and Cuddles for Naara will clash again following their recent domination of the Gold Sovereign Stakes.
