Leading Australian thoroughbred sales company Magic Millions was one of the big winners at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards held recently.

Magic Millions won the hotly contested Tourism, Hospitality and Events category of the awards held at Jupiters Casino on Saturday 27 November.

The Bundall based thoroughbred sales operation edged out five other high quality finalists for the significant award.

Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards President Ian Cousins said that over the past 25 years Magic Millions had sold thousands of horses to buyers from all over the world, giving their January event the reputation as one of the “World’s leading horse carnivals.”

“International and domestic buyers now frequent the popular Magic Millions sales at the Gold Coast, Perth and Adelaide to buy horses for racing in respective countries, injecting million of dollars into the Gold Coast economy,” Cousins said.

Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said the award win was a thrill for everyone involved with the company.

“Magic Millions is honoured to receive recognition with this Gold Coast Business Excellence Award,” Cox reported.

“We work hard in making the Gold Coast the premier location for thoroughbred enthusiasts all year round with our internationally acclaimed horse sales.”

“We are currently preparing for the 2012 BMW Magic Millions Carnival and Raceday in January and excited to be showcasing the Gold Coast during that period,” Cox added.
