Magic Millions Sales Pty Limited (MMS) are pleased to announce an agreement has been reached with the Central Queensland Thoroughbred Breeders Association (CQTBA) to conduct the 2011 Capricornia Yearling Sale.
Planned for April 2011, the feature Yearling Sale will be conducted at the Robert Schwarten Pavilion Indoor, Rockhampton Showgrounds.
Magic Millions plans to offer 120 QTIS nominated Yearlings. Exclusively eligible for the Capricornia Classic Race Series held at Callaghan Park, and buyers will also have the added benefit of being able to pay up for the 2012 $5.05 Million “Magic Millions Race Series”.
“Our company see’s Central Queensland as a significant thoroughbred growth area, particularly now the RJC have entered into a partnership with RQ”, said David Chester, Managing Director, MMS.
“Magic Millions looks forward to working closely with the CQTBA, RJC and RQ, to take the local sale to a new level. The Capricornia Yearling Sale will be promoted nationally as part of the Magic Millions Australian Sale Series, and Magic Millions strategy is to develop this into a showcase event”.
“The first sale was held in Rockhampton in the 1970’s by Australian Estates Company Limited, and has endured the test of time, Magic Millions are very proud to be part of it’s future”.

“Magic Millions bloodstock personnel will be able to provide professional assistance with selections, which will ultimately improve the breeding stock in the area”.
“We also envisage that Magic Millions will be able to assist in attracting improved yearling quality to our sale”.
“Magic Millions, Racing Queensland Limited and the Rockhampton Jockey Club are keen to work with the local breeding industry to provide a first class sale and facility”, said Mr Bob Bentley, Chairman, RQ.
“A key strategy of the Rockhampton Jockey Club in its recent partnership agreement with Racing Queensland Limited was to enable the diversification of the facility for non-racing related events and the joint venture company will be working with Magic Millions to ascertain whether the Callaghan Park facility can transformed into a selling arena and stabling area suitable for future sales”, he said.

Nominations for this feature sale will close November 2010.
