Trainers from four states will coverage on Morphettville tomorrow as they chase success in the $100,000 Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic.
A select field of eight will go to the post in the feature juvenile race including those prepared by Group One winners including David Hayes, Peter Moody, John McArdle, Rick Hore-Lacy and John Thompson.
Hore-Lacy is chasing back to back wins in the event following the victory of subsequent Group One winner Toorak Toff twelve months ago.
This time around Hore-Lacy will saddle up Gonski colt Gone Skiing – a last start winner in Victoria.
More Awesome will bring over some outstanding form from his native state of Tasmania for the MM Classic.
The More Than Ready gelding, prepared by Dean Wells at Spreyton, chased home subsequent Melbourne stakes winners Golden Archer and Triple Asset when third in the recent Gold Sovereign Stakes.
Patinack Farm trainer John Thompson will saddle up the well bred youngsters Ortmayer (Choisir-Shaye Spice) and Lieutenant Colonel (Flying Spur-Regimental Gal).
Keith horsewoman Heather Lehmann will be chasing her biggest win when she saddles up the Mugharreb gelding Alpha Man.
Hall of Fame horseman David Hayes is adding plenty of intrigue to the race with his first starterd Whisper Downs – a colt by Churchill Downs.
Peter Moody is already in Adelaide following the outstanding win of Black Caviar in yesterday’s Newmarket Handicap and is hoping Star Salute extends her unbeaten run following an impressive debut win earlier this month.
The Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic is one of 10 quality packed races to be run tomorrow at Morphettville.
A large crowd is expected to pack into the track to cheer home their fancies in the state’s most famous race – the Group Two Adelaide Cup.
Three other Magic Millions juveniles will be chasing black type when they contest the listed Pewsey Vale Stakes.
Other MM graduates to watch in tomorrow’s big races include Fast Future, Our Serena, Sandhill Lad, Belfast Boy, Happy Trails. Conservatorium, Oui Si Attitude, Sean Baile Mor, Obsidian Dragon, Augusta Proud, Morgan Dollar, Sir Sienna, Niblick and Belgietto.
The first of 10 races will jump at 11.45am (SA time), the MM Classic is the third at 12.55pm and the Adelaide Cup is Race 8 at 4.05pm.
