Star New Zealand mare Diademe, a winner of today’s Group One New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1600m) at Te Aroha, will go under the hammer at the upcoming Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
The well bred daughter of Savabeel scored a career highlight victory when she held off stablemate Sports Illustrated in a spirited and record breaking success.
Diademe stopped the clock in 1 minute 33.46 seconds – a new record for the mile trip at the track.
The mare was recently entered for the Southern Hemisphere’s leading breeding stock sale at the Gold Coast and today’s win was a timely success for her connections and Attunga Stud, who will present the quality mare at the auction.
Now the winner of seven races from 25 starts, Diademe is a four time group winner.
She is one of two winners for the unraced O’Reilly mare Bling – a sister to the stakes placed dam of Group One winning sprinter Sacred Star and half sister to stakes winner Plaudits.
Bling is also the dam of the Flemington stakes performer Roop All.
Other stakes winners in her black type packed pedigree include Starcent, Star of the Knight, Sportsman, Hoystar, Prisoner of Love, King of Prussia, Strike the Stars, Marseille Roulette and Delta Girl.
The catalogue for the Magic Millions 2015 National Broodmare Sale is packed full of quality lots with over 170 stakes performed fillies and mares to go under the hammer. Further details will be released by Magic Millions soon.
