Pictured with champion filly Coolangatta ahead of her Royal Ascot debut in the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes on Tuesday 20th June, Zara Tindall MBE shares her thoughts on how Magic Millions Racing Women (MMRW) has influenced the racing industry globally.

Magic Millions Racing Women – A world first to promote the participation of women in the thoroughbred industry! MMRW was established in 2012 and now offers $750,000 in bonus prizemoney annually in the $3m The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic and $3m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas feature races, shared by horses owned wholly by women.

Zara Tindall, Patron of Magic Millions Racing Women and world-class equestrienne, continues to champion the initiative year round globally and in January each year at The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast.

“Katie Page-Harvey had a vision back in 2012 and it was the first of its kind in the world.

“The pathway for greater involvement of women in the industry was so needed, and the success of Magic Millions Racing Women speaks for itself.

“Watching them [owners] watch their horses – there is nothing like it, the atmosphere is electric and it’s an emotional experience for sure.

“The best part of this is, the interest of women from everywhere continues eleven years after we started – the registrations for example from 2023 were 50% first-time owners, so half the women involved entered into this exciting world of racehorse ownership for the very first time.

“That’s what it’s all about – accessibility and continuing to grow the opportunities for success.”

Magic Millions is excited to officially launch the dedicated Magic Millions Racing Women social media channels. A platform to showcase the immense contribution, talent, and success of women at every level within the thoroughbred industry and equestrian disciplines. Zara’s ongoing achievements, on and off the horse, as Patron of Magic Millions Racing Women will be in the spotlight as she campaigns towards Paris 2024.

Coolangatta is bred by Highclere Stud Australia (John and Jake Warren), trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace and will be ridden by James McDonald in the King’s Stand Stakes, at Ascot Racecourse.
