Charity will be the big winner with the sale of a well bred race mare on Wednesday at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Operating at their first auction, the team from Australian Racehorse Sales have announced they are donating 10 per cent of the proceeds of the sale of Lot 565 – Swift Angel to the fundraising efforts of a long time Magic Millions employee.
The 10% donation of the knock down sale price will kick away the latest fundraising effort by Magic Millions Bloodstock Operations Manager Paul Knight.
Each year Knight raises funds for charity and completes in an event and in 2015 that event will be the Noosa Triathalon on Sunday November 1 – an event that includes a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.
This year Knight’s chosen charity is Assista a Sista, a Gold Coast based group of community volunteers who work together to help survivors of domestic violence to rebuild and repair by bringing hope and restoring faith.
“It is a great act of generosity from the Australian Racehorse Sales team and I thank them and their clients for this wonderful news,” Knight said. “Hopefully buyers can dig deep and throw in an extra bid on a quality mare and in doing so help a great cause.”
Swift Angel will be offered as Lot 565 and will go under the hammer on Wednesday on Day One of the National Broodmare Sale. A winner over 1200 metres, Swift Angel is a Lonhro half sister to Group Two winner Text’n Hurley and is from a half sister to Aquiver and daughter of Excited Angel – both classy stakes winners.
The mare is available for inspection in Stable QC at the Magic Millions Sales Complex.
