It has been announced that the Ambassador for the 2014 Jeep Magic Millions Carnival and Raceday will be racing expert and commentator, Francesca Cumani.
Ms Cumani embodies the vision of Magic Millions owners Katie Page and Gerry Harvey in steering the event to success, making the entire week-long Carnival on the Gold Coast commencing from January 3, the premier summer racing destination.
“Francesca has a unique combination of talents and insights. The daughter of a world-class trainer and an amateur jockey herself, riding track work, competing in amateur races, Francesca has the ability to demystify the merits of a top yearling to the untrained eye. She can dissect the race field with the best of them, whilst enjoying the passion and energy of those celebrating track-side.
“She is the consummate professional and we are delighted to welcome her as the Ambassador of the Magic Millions for 2014,” Katie Page said.
From the yearling sales held throughout the week to providing expert opinion on the racing line up, Francesca represents an ability to bring together those who live and breathe thoroughbred breeding, training and ownership with those who enjoy the trackside experience of Raceday – making racing more accessible to all.
The below schedule outlines the events hosted by Australia’s premier thoroughbred sales company Magic Millions from January 3-14 on the Gold Coast. Alongside its internationally renowned yearling sales will be a full carnival of activities including the highly anticipated Jeep Magic Millions Barrier Draw presented by Racing Queensland, with horses racing down the iconic Gold Coast beach and the R.M.Williams Launch Party. The feature of the week-long line up will be the Jeep Magic Millions Raceday on January 11, which is the richest sales incentive raceday in the world, offering over $4 million in prize money.
Ms Cumani’s first appearance will be at the Magic Millions Open Day on Sunday 5 January, where she will participate in a panel interview imparting her knowledge on the process of purchasing and racing horses. Additional industry experts on the panel throughout the day include, Australian champion jockey Glen Boss, Magic Millions owners Katie Page and Gerry Harvey, former jockey Bernadette Cooper and 2013 $2 million Jeep Magic Millions 2YO Classic and Racing Women’s Incentive Bonus winner, Michelle Lang–McMahon among others.

The Jeep Magic Millions Raceday features the richest race in Queensland, the $2 million Jeep Magic Millions 2YO Classic. The Jeep Magic Millions is the largest sales incentive Raceday in the world, where only graduates of the Magic Millions Sales are eligible to compete for the $4.7 million prize pool.

As the first major Gold Coast Yearling Sale Inspection day, Magic Millions welcomes general public and horse enthusiasts to enjoy the Magic Millions Complex. Open Day will include an education component where you can learn how to buy and race a horse. Featuring prominent trainers, breeders, jockeys, and bloodstock agents this is a chance for anyone interested in getting into the industry to come on site and ask questions from experts in the field. Panel discussions will be held with special guests – champion Jockey Glen Boss, and racing expert Francesca Cumani among others.

The Barrier Draw is often referred to as the most important aspect of the race – each horse is randomly allocated a barrier for the Jeep Magic Millions 2YO Classic race. This will be held on the beach and is a free community event open to the public.

This is the Opening Night event for all Magic Millions key stakeholders including VIPs, celebrities, breeders, trainers and punters.

This is the first horse sale of the Carnival.
