Magic Millions is delighted to announce that one of Australasia’s leading bloodstock agents is joining the team.

Paul Beamish, currently based in New Zealand, will move to New South Wales and be that state’s representative for the country’s leading thoroughbred auctioneers.

A 30-year independent bloodstock agent, Beamish is excited about joining the Magic Millions team after being a long term client of the operation.

“I’m really excited and pleased to be joining the Magic Millions team,” Beamish said. “I have bought and sold through Magic Millions.”

“Over that time I have enjoyed working with the company and the people. Nothing was ever a problem.”

Beamish grew up around horses and has spent most of his life working with the animals he loves.

“I grew up on a farm in New Zealand and did the whole pony club thing as a child and it all started then.”

“Prior to becoming a bloodstock agent I spent time working in polo – playing and managing teams in both New Zealand and Australia.”

“I’ve also spent time at studs in England and Ireland before returning to New Zealand for a job at Okawa Stud during the time the country’s leading sire Three Legs stood there.”

Paul established Beamish Bloodstock in 1985 and in that time has played a role in the careers of Group One winners Richfield Lady and Merry Maiden, and in Hong, Figures, Floral Pegasus, Able One and Eagle Regiment, to name a few.

He has a great passion for the 2yo Horses in Training sale, and believes that this concept will be providing most of the replacement horses for Asia in the future.

“The National Horses in Training Sale on the Gold Coast has really developed over the past few years and its growth into the future looks very exciting.”

“The concept of breeze ups in Australia has definitely changed since Magic Millions got into the two-year-old sales market.”

“The sale is very popular with Asian buyers but its growth looks strong with domestic buyers becoming aware it’s a great place to get a two-year-old with real potential.”

“With horses like Shocking coming out of the sale and going on to win the Melbourne Cup, Australian owners and trainers have worked out the sale is no longer about culls – but a proven hunting ground for star racehorses.”

Beamish said he was really looking forward to his new role.

“I’m currently planning the move to New South Wales and it will enable me to have close contact with trainers, owners and breeders in Sydney and also the major breeding areas.”

Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox said the Gold Coast based operation was thrilled to have such an esteemed industry member joining the team.

“Paul is well known and hugely respected right around the world and he is a perfect fit at Magic Millions,” Cox said.

“He will play an important role with the company – being based in New South Wales and close to the largest thoroughbred breeding area in the Southern Hemisphere.”

Beamish commences his role next Monday (July 1).
