Quality filly Snipzu bounced back from her ninth placing in the $2 million BMW Magic Millions 2YO Classic with a dominant victory in today’s $100,000 QTIS Plate (1200m) at the Sunshine Coast.
A dual city winner and three time stakes placegetter leading into the event, Snipzu was sent out the second elect and after a lovely run she proved too strong for a select field.
A member of the Liam Birchley stable, Snipzu is raced by a large team of owners and they were not surprisingly all smiles after the race.
The filly has turned out an incredible money spinner for those connections.
She cost Bichley just $80,000 from the draft of Yarramalong Park for $80,000 at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Under the urgings of Glen Colless, Snipzu ($3.10) was able to cruise to the line two lengths clear of Platinum State ($6).
The runner-up was in turn a lip ahead of the third placegetter, Saluter ($4.40).
The win was the third for the quality filly with her earnings racing to $289,000 from just seven lifetime outings.
Snipzu is a daughter of promising young sire, former outstanding Magic Millions graduate Snippetson.
She is one of five winners for the 100 per cent winner producer Pilgrim.
A daughter of champion sire and broodmare sire Danehill, Pilgrim is a half sister to Arkady – a Group One winner of the Ranvet Stakes.
She is also a half sister to Arkadina – the dam of stakes winners Olonana and Super Savings – as well as the dam of crack Perth youngster Paris Petard.
