Redsyn broke through and continued the great run of Red Dazzler’s first crop when she cruised to victory at Doomben this afternoon.
Prepared at the Sunshine Coast by Jason McLachlan, Redsyn had been placed her past three runs and was sent out a $9 chance this afternoon.
After being positioned behind the leaders, rider Eddie Wilkinson was able to get the filly to produce a strong run when produced in the home straight.
McLachlan purchased Redsyn for $40,000 from the Grandview draft at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
“She’s a good filly,” McLachlan said. “She’s always shown plenty.”
“She’s had four starts and drawn the outside fence every time.”
“(This is) the first time we’ve been able to ride her quiet.”
“I thought Ed (Wilkinson) rode very well. He knows the horse and we rode her with the sit today and I think the ride got her home.”
“She’s a filly with a bit of a future,” he summed up.
Redsyn is the 10th individual winner for Red Dazzler – a resident of Eureka Stud who is a Group One winning son of Red Ransom.
His dam, the city winning Mukaddamah mare Another Syn, is a half sister to three stakes performers including multiple New Zealand Horse of the Year, Seachange.
Seachange won seven Group One races and 14 races all up during a career that netted over $1.5 million in earnings.
Another Syn is also a half sister to the Group One Levin Classic winner Keepa Cruisin.
The latest yearling from Another Syn, a colt by in form sire Choisir, has been entered for the 2012 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by the Grandview team.
