The full brother to Golden Slipper winner and last season’s Champion First Season sire Stratum will go under the hammer at the Gold Coast in January.

The team from Reavill Farm has confirmed the colt, an outstanding individual, will headline their quality draft for the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The bay colt is the latest yearling produced by Bourgeois, a grand producing mare by Luskin Star whose six runners are all winners.

Magic Millions International Director David Chester said the colt would be a stand out lot at any auction in the world.

“He is a smashing individual,” Chester stated. “Everyone who has seen him loves him and he is sure to be one of the most talked about yearlings in Australia next year.”

“Very much in the mould of his older full brother, the colt should attract interest from leading buyers around Australia and the globe.”

“Magic Millions are honoured to have the opportunity to sell him – having sold his full brother at the same sale before Paul Perry trained him to win the Golden Slipper.”

“Stratum is now one of the country’s hottest young sires and he is in the process of covering his best book of mares at Widden Stud this spring.”

Reavill Farm’s David Rippon said he was looking forward to the colt going under the hammer in January.

“The colt is a clone of his brother,” Rippon said. “He has great presence and is very forward for his age.”

“He has the athleticism and length of body which is a great hallmark of Stratum’s physique.”

“If he runs up to his looks then he might be something special.”

“We are delighted with his development and very much look forward to him going through the same sale ring as his illustrious brother.”

“He will headline our draft but by no means is it a one act affair.”

“Outstanding colts by Fastnet Rock, Lonhro, Flying Spur and Choisir will be much admired as will a group of four fillies including an outstanding Haradasun yearling,” Rippon summed up.

Stratum, a Reavill Farm graduate purchased by trainer Paul Perry from the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, won the Golden Slipper Stakes and Pago Pago Stakes as a two-year-old and earned over $2.24 million before being retired to stud.

His first crop hit the ground running and were headlined by Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily.

His full sister Dystopia is a multiple Sydney winner and has earned black type with a third placing in the Kevin Hayes Stakes in Melbourne.

Winning half sisters Grand Performance and French Cut have in turned produced the quality black type gallopers and multiple winners Burgeis and Jiale.

The 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale will be held from January 12 to 21.
