The top producing record of Queensland based broodmare So Tempted continued this week when her latest two-year-old impressed on debut.
He’s So Tempting was sent out at good each way odds in the time honoured Pallarenda Stakes (1000m) at Townsville on Tuesday and he produced a big performance to win.
Locally prepared by master horseman Bub Baker, He’s So Tempting started from an outside barrier and got well back in the field before coming with a great turn of foot under Ian Toward to win by a widening long neck margin.
A full field of 14 lined up in the first two-year-old race of the region and the second in Queensland and fittingly a graduate of this year’s Magic Millions QTIS 600 Yearling Sale was successful.
He’s So Tempting, by Greenwood Lake, was purchased as a yearling by Mick Anning for just $14,000 and was broken into ten shares.
He collected a cool $26,800 from winning on Tuesday and looks to have a bright future head for Baker and his large team of owners.
He’s So Tempting is the third runner and third winner for Racetree’s grand producing Jeune mare So Tempted.
A full sister to the Wakeful Stakes winner and VRC Oaks placegetter Lolita Star, So Tempted was a winner in Adelaide prior to heading to stud.
Her first foal Femina Fashion (Shamardal) shot to prominence earlier in the year when she won the listed Gold Coast Braceful and was second in the Doomben Roses.
As it stands that stakes winner, who is trained at the Gold Coast by Trevor Whittington, has earned almost $200,000.
So Tempted’s second foal, the Dubawi filly Happy Archer, is an international Group One winner – having earlier this year won the Thekwini Stakes at Greyville in South Africa.
He’s So Tempting is her third foal and he looks to have a bright future ahead.
Her fourth foal, a chestnut filly by Henny Hughes, is currently a yearling and is being preparing for January’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by the team from Racetree.
The filly is a lovely individual and is sure to attract the attention of astute trainers and buyers in the New Year.
So Tempted recently produced Racetree with a filly by Hotel Grand and she is booked to visit Flying Spur this season.
